Occupational Therapy (OT) is a health care professional focused on helping individuals of all ages achieve independence in their daily lives. Ots assess and work with individuals in improving their ability to participate in these activities, especially if physical, mental, or cognitive challenges are present. Occupational therapists can play a vital role in helping individuals manage and overcome cognitive challenges to help improve their cognitive skills and develop strategies for daily living such as cognitive rehabilitation, adaptation of environments, use of tools, strategy development. Some of the cognitive challenges might include memory and recall; attention and focus; problem-solving and decision-making; executive functioning; social and communication skills,
and adaptation to everyday activities.
